Very Short Update

I’m a bit in rush but wanted to give you a short update:

So far I absolutely LOVE Colombia – very great and friendly people (and good looking too) – so far I didn’t get ripped off and everyone is very helpful!

I managed to get my camera tripod repaired for 5000 pesos (2.5$) and it is now even more functional than it was before since I now can disassemble  it into 3 pieces.

I spend a night in a hammock on the Playa Blanca – beautiful beach outside of Cartagena – pictures and track to follow.

I’m in a rush because I’m going on a 10+ days sailing trip from Cartagena to Panama with a couple of days at the San Blas Islands – which means that you wont hear from me for 12 days or so. So pleas do NOT panic ;)

All is good here – I’m having the time of my life!

    Mark, I am so glad you are having a good time and are enjoying my beloved land :) (mi tierra amada)
    Nice… labor for $2.50 …
    Yeah.. Look for “ISLA DE BARU” in google. I think that’s where Playa Blanca is. Nights in Cartagena are lovely. I need to go up there spend some time later for sure! (Anyone else?).
    How was sleeping on a hammock? painful?
    Hope to see pictures before I travel south ;-)

    well, you know how to make us all jealous with those stories of the “times of your life”:)! but to be serious, I’m very happy for you man, it is very motivating. My friend Rose is now talking me into going to Chile next year lol.
    So, a sailing trip, sounds fantastic! yes, I’m waiting for some of the pics, too.
    and how is the communication with the locals going on?

    BTW: I am never worried about you, as we know “the Kids are alright if we don’t hear back from them” which saved our parents during the on or other trip as kids or scouts… Mum would still very much appreciate if you give her a vital sign from time to time.

    BTWII: where r u from the 24thJan to 10th FEB? I am free and maybe…?!
